When my husbands family was visiting from the USA in December 2021 I created their 10 day travel itinerary including some cool places to stay in Prague. They’ve never been in the Czech Republic before, so I wanted them to get a full experience of this beautiful city.
I enjoyed researching on hotels and top places to visit so much that I decided to put together a list of the best hotels in Prague for the high demanding travelers who don’t need to travel low budget and share it with you, because I think that you should get the best experience when you come (not only) for the first time to Czechia.
So, let’s look at the places together and I’d be happy to hear from you what you think.
Chateau Mcely (*****)

I’d like to start with this beautiful BONUS place and the only location on this list outside of Prague. Chateau Mcely is one of the most luxurious hotels in the Czech Republic, based only 50 minutes away from Prague, in the picturesque central Bohemian village.
This eco-chic chateau hotel offers its guests outstanding hospitality, fine dining featuring seasonal menus, a natural swimming lake with wooden sunbeds, and 24 rooms with beautiful views of the surrounding nature and the St. George Forest.
Chateau Mcely with its spa center, an outdoor whirlpool, and sauna is an oasis for relaxation, but it also features an astronomical observatory, and many activities like horse-drawn carriage ride or croquet.
This beautiful manor is a great escape from a city life and offers an outstanding opportunity to enjoy a peaceful countryside energy after a busy day in a center of Prague.
10. One Room Hotel (*****)

One Room Hotel is a one time experience! This is really only one room set in a TV tower at one of the best locations, offering gorgeous views of Prague.
If you want to wake up in the 70 meters high with the sunrise over the city, it’s a perfect place to stay. The room is tastefully and elegantly equipped and a glassed-in bathroom is just a dream.
There are many additional services you can book to treat yourself. You can have your butler, or a private limousine that will take you wherever you wish. You can ask for special decoration of the room or even a special service.
If you plan your stay for a special occasion or if you even want to make a proposal, you can make it unforgettable. You can get a person climbing the tower in front of your room window with a message you wish. This is how it looks like!
And last but not least, the One Room Hotel is linked to one of the best gastronomic restaurants Oblaca that was many times rewarded with three Golden Lions award which makes the restaurant one of the best in the Czech Republic.
9. The President (*****)

I can remember the first time I was walking around the President hotel. It’s located on the right bank of the Vltava river, between the Charles Bridge and the Cloister of St. Agnes of Bohemia. The building was not really catching my eyes, but the interior, you can see from outside, made me speechless. At that moment I was thinking I’d stay here when visiting Prague as a tourist. Don’t believe me? Look at it!
The President Hotel is a modern hotel offering a free wellness for its guests, including an underground pool, Finnish sauna, steam bath and a relax zone. Thai massages or cosmetic treatments are available for guests as well. If you love beautiful views, you should definitely book the “Deluxe room with castle views” and enjoy the atmosphere of the romantic Prague Castle panorama.
If you want to experience the best of the hotel, book “the Presidential Suite” featuring a 50-sqm terrace with a stunning 270 degree panorama including the Prague Castle. Andaz Prague made it to my list even if the hotel just recently opened (March 2022).
I think it’s a great project and I love the location in the heart of the historical center of Prague. If you decide to stay here, you’ll have all the major sightseeing including the Wenceslas Square and the Old Town Square within a short walking distance.

7. Almanac X Prague (*****)

The Almanac X Prague, built in 1932, has much to offer to its clients. This beautiful Art-Deco hotel features 2 wonderful restaurants you don’t want to miss, the Alcron and La Rotonde.
The Alcron, the Michelin-starred restaurant 2012 – 2017, was ranked in 2017 number 7 in Europe Best Fine Dining restaurant. La Rotonde is an award-winning restaurant, which serves gourmet Czech and international cuisine. Don’t forget to make a reservation at least in of these!
The Almanac X Prague is based in the center of Prague, just 100m from Wenceslas Square and couple of minutes walk from the Old Town Square, Charles Bridge and the Prague Castle.
If you like couple of drinks after a busy day, you might appreciate the elegant BeBop Lobby Bar in the hotel that offers fantastic selection of cocktails and rare spirits that you can even enjoy on the outdoor terrace during the summertime.
6. Golden Well (*****)

Golden Well is a boutique hotel located in one of the best locations in Prague with stunning views over the city. According to the 2016 Tripadvisor Traveler’s Choice Awards, Golden Well is the number 1 hotel in Europe, and number 3 in the world.
This charming place is a paradise for all who really want to feel a touch of the Renaissance era. The hotel offers luxury accommodation with 17 rooms and 2 suites with views, exceptional service, and world-class amenities.
The biggest highlight of this hotel is fine dining in its restaurant featuring two outside and one inside terraces where guests can enjoy breathtaking views of Prague. The Prague Castle and Royal Gardens are right next door and Charles Bridge is only 10 minutes away.
This is a really amazing place to stay!
5. Alchymist Grand Hotel and Spa (*****)

This unique 5-star hotel is situated in the UNESCO-protected Baroque landmark, the "House at the Infant Jesus", dating back to the 16th century, just few steps away from major sights like Charles Bridge and Prague Castle.

The hotel offers its guests an exclusive experience: a special tour where they can explore an ancient library with one of the most extensive collections of ancient medial books in Europe. This is normally not accessible to public.

3. Mandarin Oriental, Prague (*****)

Mandarin Oriental, Prague has a great location in the historic Mala Strana quarter just a few minutes from Charles Bridge and Kampa park, which is a nice place for morning walks next to the Vltava river.
It’s also just a few steps from Werichova villa, a former home of an actor Jan Werich, with a museum dedicated to his work, and an extraordinary coffee shop IF Cafe serving delicious pastry.
This 5* hotel offers world-class services and beautifully designed rooms featuring city or garden views. Of course you’ll find fitness and wellness in the Mandarin Oriental, Prague as well. The spa is spread over two floors and you can enjoy a tailor-made treatment, beauty room or yoga classes.
Spices Restaurant and Bar offer a fine dining experience with an authentic Asian flavors. I’ve visited the restaurant on Valentines Day for a special menu and can highly recommend it as well. Everything on the menu was delicious, the service was excellent, and the environment very elegant and cozy. In summer you’ll appreciate its outdoor setting in a fabulous garden space. You may even see a few peacocks walking around when enjoying a generous breakfast buffet offering local, organic and home-made food.
The Grand Mark Prague combines tradition and modern design. The rooms are spacious, tastefully furnished, and many of them features a separate living room with a full kitchenette, large bathroom and nice views to the garden or street.
This exclusive hotel is a perfect place for romantic city breaks or even honeymoons.
